Berry Lips

I've been working on this post for what feels like forever so I'm very relieved to finally have it finished!
As soon as the weather starts cooling down I think of berry lips. Even though I wear them all year round, they do tend to be more of a winter look for me. Berry lips make me think of cosy clothes and hot chocolate.

Today I thought I'd show you my favourite berry lip shades. As you can see, there are quite a lot of them, I've got all options covered!

For some reason I could not get this photo to post properly, it would only go sideways, so annoying!
Shown above and below are: Max Factor Colour Elixir Scarlet Ghost*, Bourjois Shine Edition Mauve Tabloid, Max Factor Colour Elixir Secret Cerise, Estee Lauder Electric Intense LipCreme Fatale, Inglot 412.
First up are lipsticks. The Max Factor Colour Elixir are one of my favourite lipstick formula's. They are so hydrating and feel more like a balm than a lipstick. They have great pigment, last half a day and smell gorgeous. If you haven't tried these you need to.

Bourjois can always be counted on to make a good lipstick and their Shine Edition lipsticks are no exception. They are a lovely, sheer formula with a subtle shimmer.
One thing I love about Estee Lauder lip products is the fig scent. It smells edible. I've yet to meet an Estee Lauder lip product that I don't love. I really want to try one of their new Pure Colour Envy lipsticks.

Inglot Matte Lipsticks are truly matte. They are so matte that they can be quite drying. Because of that, they last for ages. This one stains my lips so even after eating and drinking I still have colour on my lips. It's not a formula that I'd wear every day, but it's great for those days when I don't want to reapply my lipstick.

Eles Micro Bubble Lipstick Micro Blush*, Lipstick Queen Medieval, Models Prefer Infinite Colour Secret Affair.

The Eles Micro Bubble Lipsticks get a lot of raves on blogs so I was really excited to try one. It's a really lightweight formula, I forget that I'm wearing lipstick when I have this on. Wear time is pretty decent, about two to three hours.

Lipstick Queen Medieval is a gorgeous colour. It looks quite bright in the tube but as you can see from the swatch it applies sheer and gives a beautiful stain to the lips that lasts all day.

Models Prefer Secret Affair is quite a deep berry on me. As it's matte the colour lasts at least six hours. It can be a little drying but a swipe of lip balm underneath (or over the top) solves that problem.

Next up is lip crayons. Since I'm obsessed with lip crayons it's quite surprising that I only have three in this post. One day I'll do a post with all of my lip crayons and you'll see how obsessed I really am.
Inglot AMC Lip Pencil 34, Boe Beauty Jumbo Lips, Models Prefer Moisture Lust Glossy Lip Tint Rum and Raisin.

As with the Inglot lipstick, this pencil is very matte, so matte that it can be a challenge to apply as it tugs on the lips. Having said that, once it's on it's a gorgeous, long lasting colour so in my opinion it's worth the effort.

If you haven't tried BOE products yet, what are you waiting for? They are all only $2 so even if you get something you don't like, it hasn't cost much. I've only tried the lip crayons so far, but they're brilliant. They have a sheer, high shine finish and a soft vanilla scent.

The Models Prefer Moisture Lust Glossy Lip Tints were released last year then disappeared for a while, but they're back again now. These are very similar to the original Revlon balm stains, but a whole lot cheaper.
Last up are glosses.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Gleaming Temptations Lip Gloss Uncaged Tigress, Korres Liquid Lipstick Raspberry 28, Covergirl Wetslicks Blackberry Splash, Korres Lip Butter Glaze Wild Rose.

Rouge Bunny Rouge is one of those brands that you don't hear much about which really surprises me as the products are amazing. They are quite expensive but worth every cent. I wont this gloss in one of the Facebook competitions and I absolutely love it. The colour is shimmery, opaque and non sticky. Perfect.

Custard lovers need to buy the Korres Liquid lipstick because that's what it smells like. Every time I wear this I feel like eating custard, not sure if that's a good or bad thing. As far as liquid lipsticks go this is one of my favourites. It has a thin texture (because it's water based), it sets quickly, doesn't leave me with that heavy feeling that some liquid lipsticks have and it lasts at least half a day before I need to reapply.

I'm seriously considering buying all of the Covergirl Wetslicks glosses because they smell and taste amazing. You have to smell the caramel apple one, it's heavenly. Only trouble is I put it on then lick most of it off again cause it tastes good too. Oh well. Anyhow, Blackberry Splash smells and tastes gorgeous and as you can see from the swatch, it's a beautiful, shimmery deep plum colour. It looks gorgeous alone and is great over the top of lipstick.

Last up is Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter. I much prefer the tube version over the pot balms, mainly because I don't really like sticking my finger into a pot but also because the tube is easier to carry around. Also, for some reason I find this version to be more hydrating than the pot balm. This gives a surprisingly good coverage, it's more like a gloss than a balm. I get a good few hours wear before the colour fades, which is excellent for a balm.

There concludes my extensive list of berry lipsticks. Would you believe I have even more, but I culled the list down so that I'd actually get the post finished sometime this year.

If you've read this far, congratulations. What are your favourite berry lip products?

Note: Max Factor Scarlet Ghost and Eles Micro Bubble Lipstick were provided for consideration. All other products I purchased myself.
