Shizen Salve

I am a huge fan of Shizen. All of their products that I have tried are amazing and the Salve Balm is no exception. According to Shizen it is a soothing balm that provides skin protection from cracked lips, sunburn and dry cuticles. It can be used to relieve dryness and is great for nappy rash.

I use this for nearly everything. It's one of those products that I take everywhere with me, cause it's so versatile. In fact I'd have to say that it's taken the place of my beloved Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. It's great for using on dry lips, skin rashes, dry cuticles, dry, flaky patches, dry elbows, just about everything! I even use it to help heal pimples.

The Shizen website lists the following ways to use Salve:
Rub over your nails and cuticles to soften, heal and condition the skin. Smooth over eyebrows to help keep them in place and under control. Apply to sunburn to sooth skin. Massage over your dry elbows, knees and heels for marvelous, soft, nourished skin. Blend over your face for use under your foundation.

It has a light lemon scent that fades quickly. The balm is thick, the consistency of ointment, but it's non oily and sinks in quickly. It leaves a bit of a sheen if applied thickly, so is good for use on the lips over liner. If applied thinly it sinks in and isn't visible.

In cold weather the balm tends to harden, so needs to be warmed up in the tube before use.

Ingredients: castor seed oil, lanolin, shea butter, beeswax, lemon myrtle essential oil, sweet almond oil, lime essential oil, vitamin E, chamomile extract and rose geranium oil.
